Iron & Ale (A Very Dwarven Game) (Kickstarter)
« on: November 27, 2013, 05:13:29 pm »

Just found out about a kickstarter that seemed perfect for those that enjoy Dwarf Fortress. It is called Iron & Ale and is a drinking card game. Now, I am bad about describing things, so take a look at the example gameplay (especially at 2 minutes 30 seconds):

Dear OP,
You didn't put game title in the thread title, this is your first post, you are advertising, will not look.

I apologize for how undwarfy I am. I am still new to the ways of the Dwarf and have much to learn.

Yeah, we have some unwritten rules about how to "advertise" games around here. You should put the name of the game and a kickstarter indication in the topic title.

I checked the KS: it looks like a nice drinking card game, but overseas delivery pledge has just a too steep price. I can buy things from the US and get them deliver here in Europe for less than 60$ total. And the KS page doesn't talk about DF. That's too bad (and completely unrelated, yes). :P

Yeah, it is too bad that the kickstarter does not talk about DF. Both are very dwarfy games.

As for the overseas delivery, there are usually ways around that. Like getting a group together and having a bundle of the games be sent to one local (usually involves talking to the creator) or having someone in the US receive the package and forward it somehow for less.

EDIT: For overseas backers, there is a $10 print & play level that lets you print out your own copy of the game. It may not be exactly the same, but it is a lot less than spending $60 with $35 going towards shipping.

May your beards be full and glorious, your battles fierce, your pockets full of gold, and your stein everfull.
