It's much easier to get a wood carved dick. If I remember it right, it was about half a foot tall. They also have little wooden dick key chains you can inscribe with your name.

Phrases like "grow some balls" are just sayings. Androcentric ones that should probably be nuked, too.

Does she know that? That she doesn't need male genitalia to have confidence, nor do other women?

Maybe it's ironic in a way I'm not getting.

But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

There's a lot of things that are "just said."  Some people need a crutch for a while as they gain their own strength.

It's not the Big Mythical Penis of Power or whatever, look, I've got a tiny metal one in my purse, that's not that scary.  When you've been socially programmed to lie down, defer, and be weak, it's very, very hard to undo that programming.

I guess I've got a problem with male genitalia being seen as a symbol of power. I know they often are, but I feel that idea should be fought against and not reinforced.

A more feminist confidence idol seems more appropriate to me.

Yeah, though I'm not sure that the best way to remove power from it is to criticize the actions of those who were disenfranchised by it, you know?

If a woman espouses that women are inferior to men, I'd criticize her just as much as if a man said it.

As a side note I'd like to make a point about magnitude. This is about a kickstarter; no one's claiming the woman who started it is contributing to male oppression to any significant degree. In fact she could be having a net positive effect.

At the end of the day though I don't think the idea that a woman needs a dick to be equal to a man is a good one, but in the grand scheme of things, using small metal ones for confidence boosters isn't going to be a big problem.

EDIT: This whole thing could be a good idea if the point was showing how ludicrous an idea that having a dick makes you strong is, but bigger ones would probably make that point better. ("Oh you think you have a big dick eh? Look at mine!")

... so women should carry around 5 foot wooden dicks in giant not-guitar carrying cases and whomp them onto the table before beginning any discussion, just to be safe?

It's yet another Youtube channel where a nerd says "um" a million times and gives a pointless opinion about a video game that came out six years ago.

:| Gee, doesn't that make me feel good.

If I worked as a TSA agent, I'd keep one up my sleeve, so whenever I search someone's bag I can slip it out and be like, "Ma'am, what is this?"

Gender-neutral: "Grow some nipples".

EDIT: This whole thing could be a good idea if the point was showing how ludicrous an idea that having a dick makes you strong is, but bigger ones would probably make that point better. ("Oh you think you have a big dick eh? Look at mine!")

"That's no dick. This is a dick."

References aside, yeah, it feels this would do nothing but increase the connection between penises and power stronger.  It also feels like it would serve to reinforce traditional male roles and "you're measured by your penis/your penis is (the center of) your everything" which is something I really don't want.
