I see an option to plant them in my farm, but I must not have any seeds for them, because when assign a farm to grow quarry bushes nothing gets planted.

What are the seeds for these? Where do you get them? What's the fruit good for?

probably for wild strawberries; you get it from foraging, and only by foraging

Toady said they're used for making spicy food using the leaves, so I doubt it uses strawberry seeds (a lot of the seeds in the game are near useless :\). I think gathering plants can give you a quarry bush, that can be processed and you can get seeds in the process. Although Toady mentioned a crash with processing those in some version but I'm almost sure it's been resolved by now.

If they've popped up on your farming menu it means you've either foraged at least one from the bushes in your cave or traded for one. They won't appear on your kitchen menu though because they aren't brewable or cookable. If you have a farming workshop you can process them into bags which will give you cookable leaves and plantable seeds.
