Can Goblins walk underwater?
« on: March 03, 2008, 08:17:00 pm »

I have created a diabolical device that hurls gobbos into a nearby lake. However, there's a few natural slopes leading up from the lake, under my walls, into my fort. Can a goblin close enough to the edge of the lake walk underwater and up the ramp?

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

It's called swimming.  And yes, they can.  However, if they're knocked unconcious, they'll drown.

Alright, I'll add some floors above the water near the device on the off chance that one of them gets lucky.

You could leave one single slope leading out of the lake (just in case any of your dorfs get flungified too!) and stick a super-nasty trap in front of it.   :)
