Question about Phoebus Tileset
« on: September 21, 2013, 06:35:39 pm »

So I just recently switched from LNP to Masterwork, and I noticed that the different stone types aren't displaying the way I'm used to. Obsidian in particular is missing it's 'special' graphic and is instead showing up as identical to gabbro in both color and tile. The metals and gems show up right.

How do I fix this? It's driving me nuts, since I usually do visual scans of things to find the type of stone I want.

I made sure Phoebus was selected, but I'm not sure if this is what Schist wall is supposed to look like...

Everything looks good to me. If you're using the Phoebus tileset, you might wanna take a peek at 'Graphical Settings - Phoebus Only' batch file located in the same file the masterwork settings .exe is in. With MDF parts of Phoebus can be subbed for parts of other tilesets with that batch file. It's very easy to use, just load it up and click on things until everything in the sample provided looks good to you.

Its probably a wrong tile number somewhere.

I can check Obsidian and Schist, but if its more then that, you have to tell me. I wont find the differences on my own, since I cant even remember what vanilla df looks like.

The white wall in the top left corner of the same screenshot is marble (unsmoothed).

"Clay stone" looks the same, only with the color of vomit.

I haven't seen anything else in this embark.

Are you saying that marble and claystone should look different? (as in: MDF Phoebus is wrong, they dont look like vanilla Phoebus?)

Phoebus marble had the flux icon on it, so it's definitely not the same as vanilla Phoebus. It's not worse, I suppose, just less familiar.

Clay stone looks like the Schist in the above screenshot, only with a different color. I don't remember any stone in vanilla Phoebus looking like this, this plain one-color rectangle type of wall is completely new to me.

Schist ought to have a sort of gray-brown background with a light gray dot in the middle, and obsidian is dark gray with 2 diagonal dots. The only plain-color with the LNP version of phoebus is clay. Stone types should have different icons depending on what kind they are, and mostly only clay or soil are plain walls with texture.

Oddly enough, the batch file shows the correct icons for stone types, and the issue is only when the game is up. I'm not sure how to put screenshots in posts, but I'll be glad to email them to people or something.

If it is a wrong tile number, how would I go about fixing it?

What batch file?

And yeah, I dimly remember changing the flux tile for marble because I made it a layer in the mod, and all these little flux icons where looking odd to me. But I can set it back, no problem. But the clay tile is right as it is?

Wront tile number: Open the raws, find the entry, change the number to the correct one. Can be done in a running save if you like.

Screenshots: Upload the file to imgur, then link to it.

The right file path is this one? MasterworkDwarfFortress\Phoebus\raw\objects, inorganic_stone_layer.txt

edit: no, it's actually MasterworkDF v3i\Dwarf Fortress\data\save\region1\raw\objects, inorganic_stone_layer.txt

Yeah, that's more like it:
