Mud spreads too fast now
« on: October 30, 2007, 02:35:00 am »

I know mud/blood got tracked all over the place in the old version, but it's my opinion that a stone square should not be farmable unless water has actually touched it.

I flooded my farm in a way that was far too clever and mostly ineffective last season.  Since then, the mud keeps getting tracked all over my fortress, up two ramps, and now I can farm my main corridor through bootprints alone.

Any hope for a distinction, here?  This seems pretty unreasonable to me.

Mud and blood need to dry up and dissapear after a while :[

I too noticed the insane amount of mud being tracked everywhere.

If you look at what your dwarves are wearing, I've noticed you can even see mud smears on their various bits and pieces   :D

My dwarves all have mud in their eyes (from sleeping in it, I assume) and I don't know how to get rid of it  :(

Also, some of the mud seemed to have gotten cleaned up (or evaporated) but the rest is still there, and yes they are tromping it all over faster then it goes away.

Yeah, I have something written up somewhere to distinguish foot prints from this excessive general spreading.  Now that things stick on the bottom of their shoes, it can do this accurately.  Unfortunately, there's no way to clean them off yet.  They'll just keep getting fouler and fouler.

Walking on 1/7 should wash the boots instead than smear them with mud. So we can have something like the small pools we can find before going in a swimming pool in real life that cleans them up if we really want. Or cleaning mats further on as a bloat.
