Do elves/dwarves use wagons?

I've noticed that elven and dwarven caravans never bring wagons or use the road. Do you have to build additional roads for them? Where would you place them?

Clearly dwarves uses wagons. I don't know if they use them for anything other than founding new settlements, though...

I'm mainly trying to find out if there's a way to trade large amounts of goods with them.

I thought it was because humans are the most populous, and as a result have more trade goods than dwarves or elves, and thus need wagons to haul their additional crap.
