- Name Battle! -
(Diana the) Bobworm: 1+1
Wriggle: 1+1+1+1
As you do your morning work, cleaning out stalls, watering and feeding the horses, and generally assisting the old man in his work, you decide that the best name you can think of for the creature is Wriggle. It's accurate, after all--wriggling seems to be something it does a lot of, and does well!
You finally get a break for breakfast, hurrying off to the kitchens. As you feed yourself, you decide what to sneak out to feed Wriggle as well. A full meal will probably sate it--some meat, some potatoes, and of course some dessert!
Meat: 5+1+1+1. You opt to not touch any of the meat that you got on your own plate, stowing it away for your new friend instead. You'll be hungry, but surely you can find plenty else to nibble on later, while Wriggle is stuck out in the woods with nothing but what it can catch!
Pie: 1+1+1+1+1. You sneak about the kitchens, fully intending to steal it a nice bit of pie. The cook spots you, a tall and round woman with an imposing stare and a quick hand on her ladle. You stop and start to stammer out an excuse, but she gives you one piercing look, then a look at the cherry pie you'd been after. She gives a hefty sigh and mutters, "Boys and their sweets," then scoops it into a bag for you and stuffs it into your hands. "Don't let the master be catchin' you with that in my kitchen, now, y'hear!"
Potatoes: 1. Taking fully to heart what the cook says, you skidaddle out of the kitchens before you even get any potatoes, leaving those for another time. Ah well.
As soon as you find the time, you make your way back to Wriggle's home in the woods, biting your lip in hope that it hasn't gotten into trouble.
Wriggle's safety: 5. You reach the stump and there is your friend, curled up inside of it, completely unharmed and snoozing away.
Wriggle's growth: 3. It's only been a few hours, and yet you're pretty sure there's something different about the creature. It takes you a bit of studying to realize it, but after a minute you realize it has visible earholes now. Given how short a time it's been, that's fairly surprising!
"Wriggle, time to wake up. I brought food!" The creature's head pops up and it squawks eagerly, squirming its way upright in the stump, balanced on its tail and gaping its beak open eagerly.
Food!: 4. Wriggle eats everything you've offered, making a little croo noise afterwards, mostly satisfied.
You have some time to play with Wriggle now before your afternoon duties! There are plenty of games you could get up to in the woods, so you need to pick something to do.
