Author Topic: [Adventure Mode] Quick question on Liches, and the magic system in general  (Read 1076 times)

I've decided to create a dwarven lich adventurer out of curiosity and lols, but I've noticed that all the golems I've rasied so far actively attack me, and none of my adventurers enemies. I'm aware Adventure Mode is not supported in Masterwork mod, but I'm tenacious, and like screwing around in any case.

Do these raised golems attack all living things in a radius like regular undead do? In which case, would summonings work right if I became a necromancer first and then raised golems? Or is there something else at work that causes the castes and magic system to not work properly in adventure mode? If the magic system doesn't work, could it be due to a reliant DFhack plug-in (such as temperatures, or such) to not be loaded when playing adventure mode?

Note, I'm not asking for anything to be "fixed," I'm just asking a general question out of 'scholarly' curiosity, so I might better understand how MW, and DF in general, works.

they keep their soul, so a pet will be a "tame" bonegolem, a follower will be a "friendly" bonegolem, and a raised hostile will be a hostile bonegolem. Same in fort mode, in case you are wondering.

Good to know. Reason I ask is that I raised a random corpse of a named skeleton found in a town dungeon, which promptly went enraged and attacked me. So either he was a bandit down there at some point, or just very pissed off that I trapped his soul. Either way, his hostility is explained. But then, I raised a lesser golem from an unnamed 'peasant' skeleton also found in the dungeon. Also hostile. Okay. Weird.

Can you point me towards the relevant init files so I can read up on these things?
