Ponds, dwarves and lobsters.
« on: April 12, 2007, 01:10:00 am »

So I think to myself, I'm going to make a pond. That will make the dwarves happy. Then I think to myself, I'm going to catch fish and lobsters and place them in said pond to make them even happier. Everyone is happy.

So here's what happens. Every time I place a new animal in the pond, it disapears. It seems like everytime I look away, a few more fish slip are gone.

Well, this won't do. So I watch the pond intently. Trying to catch the escapees in the act. But they aren't escaping, they're being eaten. The dwarves run up to the creatures and then happily find a dining room to munch on them.

Is there a way to forbid the dwarves from using the pond as their own personal pantry?

Hrm.  I wonder if there's a tag on lobsters that lets dwarves eat them raw?  I've put trout in ponds without them being eaten.

Garbaflarb had a great raw lobster recently. Garbaflarb has been pissed off at empty pond.

Garbaflarb is throwing a tantrum!
