Does Child cap for LNP work?
« on: August 18, 2013, 01:05:44 pm »

Hello, I am wondering if this setting works at all. I lowered it to 3:1000 but for the past year I have been plagued with babies. Countless, countless babies. I thought maybe it was because it does not abort current pregnancies but, as it has past one year and I am still getting waves of babies, I think new pregnancies are happening.

Oh god...so many babies.

I think you have to set the baby cap to 0?  The LNP baby cap just displays the number in the d_init.

I can't view the d_init right now so I can't help you further.

The first number's baby/child cap in absolute, the second's percentage of fortress population, assuming it follows the d_init format. I always set the second to 10 and ignore the first and that works. However I don't uses LNP, so it might not be the answer, or it might need save/exit/load to trigger.

Just got another baby since my last post. :(

I set it to 0:0 and restarted. The D_init file also says 0:0. I restarted again. Up to 34 babies and 10 children. I did want some babies...but not like this.

Not like this.

Any current pregnancies get carried to term, so you would have to wait to be sure. Try changing the pop cap and see if that helps.

Pop cap don't influences in-fortress pregnancy, it only influence migration.

It takes around 9 months to a year for birth to happen :D

It looks like the tide of babies has subsided. Next time I will set the cap BEFORE starting a fortress.
