Old Adventurers arriving as migrants
« on: August 15, 2013, 10:36:16 am »

I just had my retired adventurer show up in my fort in masterwork as a Friendly hunter unit at the same time a strangler siege showed up. But my adventurer is equipped with different stuff than what I retired him with and is also a friendly unit rather than a migrant (he is a dwarf). There was also no message other than the Vile force of darkness one for the stranglers.

Also he couldn't stand without a crutch and there he is standing without one and his weapons and shield are gone.

Not sure what anyone here can tell you. The relationship between adventure and fortress modes is all core developement by Toady. As he tends to lean toward the simulation sides of things, this is likely the result of simulation randomness taking over.

My posts are probably based on Masterwork DF mod

It's obvious that post-retirement, your adventurer actually kept adventuring and found a cure to his ailments, likely selling his possessions in the process.

Indeed, clearly he moved into a small village and developed an addiction to Tears of Armok, selling his arms and services hunting Wombat Men.

Out of curiosity, when you check his description screen, does it have record of any of his old scars he presumably aquired with his nerve damage?

I always enjoy getting those immigrants that are like "I can make soap and potash and lye and cheese and-" then I cut them off with a "Hope you like bricks!" as I turn them into a mason.

he is described with a "massive jagged scar" just as when I was playing as him, and the left shin shows up yellow just like it was. However there are no mentions of severed nerves or arteries.

Yeah judging by the "finely crafted dice" in his hand he took a liking to gambling... and he appeared to be wearing a hourglass on his head. dafak? lol.

His symbol was also a green @ instead of a dwarf's. So Im guessing the Trader bug was behind this? His profession name was Hunter though.
