Really not worth it to take fishing on your starting Dwarves. You can switch someone to fish anytime, and they'll do a decent enough job of it.

Plus, 30%-40% of my immigrants are Fisherdwarves in every single fortress :\

Agreed. My point was simply that, if you take the recommended Play Now option, you will have shells for strange moods (if they are available on your map).

He'd get them anyway, just by assigning the appropriate jobs to his dwarves.
