Don't we all?? well anyways, I love you guys! I'm mostly a lurker but i really adore this community's coolness. SO, I'm looking to get involved in one of the many different games we have groups or guilds for, but I just don't know which to pick! Preferably something where from day 1 i can make a contribution and that we have a lot of active players for. It really doesn't matter the type of game! anyways... GOGOGO!

There is a Kingdom of Loathing clan with a few people in it...I love that game, you could go try it out?
There are also a couple of Minecraft servers around if you poke through the Other Games section. I'm not too sure about multiplayer games past that...I think a Mabingoni guild is around somewhere, too?

I don't know what your computer is like or what your budget is but we have about 6-10 Payday 2 players who will be very active soon and also the upcoming game Starbound will see a huge percentage of B12 playing. Eitherway, no matter what game you choose to play with us, we will all be happy to see you.

The "Play with your buddies" sub-forum is the place where a lot of the bay12 community gaming stuff happens. "Other Games" is primarily talking about games in general, mostly about new releases and letting people get on their soapboxes (myself very much included). 
There's a couple of steam groups like "Dwarf Fortress Players" and "Dwarf Fortress Community" which have all kinds of various games going on. It's a good place to look to see if anything takes your fancy.

The bigger multiplayer game threads in "Other Games" generally have a Bay12 clan/guild/group so they can also be useful to lurk in. Ideally I'd recommend you find a game or genre you're particularly interested in and find the corresponding thread, no point joining a game you have no interest in.

As the dude that does most of the stuff involving said B12 guild (it's not super big), I'll just go ahead and drop a link to the thread here and urge you to read the OP before you start playing. If you plan on joining PM me and I will get you started.

Depends what games you want to play. Browser, bought, mmos, etc. Whole ton of games hope one suits your fancy.

Well if you are more on the retro side, im playing wayfar1444 mud as i write this message. There is no graphics and everything is computed on the server, it use as much power than an old instant messager program. Wont speak for skype because skype is the program that use the most of my ressource... god damn bugger.
