Can't seem to find a 'build wall' command anywhere. I thought you would be able to build outdoor walls/rewall stuff in this version?

I've built a couple buildings outside... now I can't figure out how to roof them.

the roof is the floor of the level above it. go up one level and build floors.

eh..... would outside farms with walls around them count as indoors or outdoors (when it comes to figuring out what you can plant)

It doesn't look at indoor/outdoor for growing. It looks at if the plot's Above or Below ground.

edit: below ground is of course called "Subterranean", just for clarity.

eh... stupid question... how does it figure out whether something is above or below ground?

so for example.. similar to above.. you wall something in and put a roof on top.. (you can, right?) is that underground?

A good question. Or if you strip-mine the entire surface of the land with channels, is the area underneath now above ground?

Press k. It will tell you if you're above or below ground.

I know it effects plants. You can now have farm plots inside or outside. (We can grow strawberries now!) But cave plants will only grow inside, and outdoor plants will only grow outdoors. (So it wont be safe to farm strawberries during an invasion.

)
