Basically what is said there, how do I make my military equip what I want them to?

This topic should probably be in the Gameplay Questions subforum, but to answer your question: hit 'm' to go to the military screen, then 'e' to set the equipment for different squads. They should then go pickup whatever you told them to, but you have to make sure none of the military has mining, hunting, or wood cutting turned on as that can interfere with their equipment last time I checked.
