[Earthquake Damage]

Hither have I come in search of answers, for neither forum post nor wiki entry has yet shed light on the mystery that is DAMBLOCK.

Toady, how does it work?  My best guess has been that it alters effective creature size when calculating damage, but I'm probably way off.

Personally I think it's a number that gets added to the denominator when calculating damage, but that's just me. I'm not toady  :p

It just makes damage go down from 0 to DAMBLOCK, on the final bp hitpoint scale (these numbers are 10x less than what you see in the weapon raws, so if a weapon does "70" a DAMBLOCK of 7 could block it entirely when it does full damage, one out of eight times).

Thanks for the reply.  That'll be pretty useful for creature mods.

Since I'm here, I have another question:  What tokens does SPECNAME accept?  MALE and FEMALE are valid, but professions (or whatever they are) like TRAINED_WAR and TRAINED_HUNTER are not.

SPECNAME just takes the genders.  Another case of trying to solve a particular problem.
