I COMMAND YOU TO RISE FROM YOUR GRAVE AND RESCUE MY DAUGHTER

Turns out that yes, I will need some sort of mobile Internet access if I want to stay connected with my laptop. One option I found is something called PDANet+, an app for Android smartphones that allow you to tether your phone without monthly charges. The free version has some pretty harsh bandwidth limits, but apparently the full version has no limits and is a one-time purchase. I'm actually using the free version right now, and while the speed is limited by the strength of your cell reception it really isn't that bad at the moment. Has anyone heard of this? Is it legal, and perhaps most importantly is it something I should invest money in?

It looked more like you were talking about rooting the phone to get around tethering limits. This is an app in the Android store that requires no rooting. That's why I was asking.

It still goes under the same clause, unless its authorized you will be breaching your contract and will start tacking the extra fees on you.
