Our strength was broken. And it was awesome.

I hadn't really been playing since 40d. But I figured, hey, vampires seem cool. Oh, minecarts, sweet! (boom) Ummm... (boom boom). I guess I'll just bury those guys and put up walls to keep carts from derailing... Hah, goblins! Best of luck against my --- how the hell do you guys have silver arrows? Link has to blow up a wall with a bomb as big as he is to get those from a magical fairy locked away in a shadowy counterpart to our own dimension! How the... well, okay. I'll retire the two survivors, and rebuild a military.

Next invasion season. Oh, look. A wererabbit. Kills fast. Dies faster.

The dead walk!

Wait, what?

Wow, that's a lot of corpses. That's like... 150 corpses? That can't be right.

But it was right. And it swamped what was left of my defenses.

Side note: leaving pastures of tame creatures outside to distract invaders is not a great tactic against necromancers.

There were THREE necromancers who attacked me at once. And the simultaneous goblin invasion couldn't stop them, either.

Are multiple simultaneous necromancer attacks common? Because if so, that's AMAZING. I'll have to go back to a different wold I genned with an enormous evil mountain range covering something like a third of the map, and hope for the best.

Indeed, I do this.

I'm pretty sure evil lands are bad for necromancer frequency; humans and dwarves are the only ones who can become them, and neither of those groups is a big fan of places where it rains the cursed blood of their ancestors, or the morning mist rolling down the valley causes explosive bleeding :)

And necromancer sieges are amazing. Welcome to fucking Boatmurdered the new version!

EDIT: Oh, and you haven't truly lived (died) until you get a necromancer ambush. Because they can do that.

Generally, when one is conducting an experiment, it is worth noting that the observers went insane, killed each other, and then rose from the dead.
It's like DF inhaled a peanut.

Necromancers need a lenght of history and a lot of neutral areas to appear. It's usual that there is multiple necromancers at once, since they have apprentices. Evil areas are fun, though, since there's a fuckton of zombies even without necros.

HUSKS/THRALLS are really gamebreakers. Honestly, they are even more FUN than HFS. Especially if they spread huskifying contaminats in melee.

Hehe if you're scared of Husks, then never download Teh Lolmod, its version of normal (i.e. made by necromancer) zombies are TOUGHER THEN HUSKS.
While they lack the huskifying contaminants, they are quite capable of fighting a dwarven champion to a 60 some page standstill. And that's just one of them :P
