How was it at the moment of opening?
Well, there was not any major difference in FPS. I think it was about 80-90, though I could be wrong since I haven't breached in a while.

Try making them all herbalists and designating the entire map for plant gathering, then get the numbers.

OK, I embarked with 300 dwarves, made them all herbalists and designated the map.

It went to about 70, but then it came back to about 90-100

Okay, good that you tested it with Moltenchannels. I had about 25 FPS in it.

Alright, now you should try some of the Battlefailed series of forts. I think if you can get 50 FPS that is OK for an old and large fort, 100 would be preferable, but you need to be able to react to events when there are 200 dwarves or so.

Given current events, I've altered my profile pic and I'm sorry it took so long to fix. If you find the old one on any of my accounts elsewhere on the internet, let me know by message (along with the specific site) and I'll fix. Can't link the revised avatar for some reason.

molten channels unpaused when possible goes between 30 and 40 fps depending what level i am on. i probably could be doing better if i did not have shit on the background and did a raw swap so my graphics pack was not fucking up with it. Nothing like dwarf skeletons for unsmoothed walls.

I generally never have fps problems either, always runs smoothly, even with 200 dwarves. Sometimes if I send like 50 dwarves off to all do the same task it might drop a bit but not by a huge amount.

I have a Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU with 2.83 GHz.
Dude, the last Core 2 Quads can still compete with the latest i7's (in a price as well), and those were mostly improving in multi-threading calculations. Of course you won't have any slowdowns.
