Only if Internet Explorer wins the war. It's simple and widely compatible; who wants to bother with all those messy plugins? As displayed in this thread, the customization can lead to problems.

Just get a off shot of chromium which is a.open-soutce version  of chrome. Get the Comodo Dragon that removes all the bull shit associated with google chrome like tracking. There is a firefox version called Comodo IceDragon which is extemely light weight and is compatiable with many plugins that are used with firefox.
