Artifact: good y/n?

So I have gotten three moods so far in my current fort, and one was a blowgun, one was a bone mace, and the last a bone shield. I know that the blowgun is useless, and the mace is terrible, but will the shield be good? It weighs <1 urist, made from two types of bone and a rock block, but will it be good for defending my dorfs?

Bone shields are great. The material of a shield doesn't matter for defense, so the lighter the better.

The only drawback of a bone shield will be a weak bashing attack, though thats hardly used by most soldiers. The lightness of it means it will not encumber whoever carries it. It will be as protective as any other shield, and IIRC have a slightly higher block chance due to aritfact status.

The blowgun sucks, as does the bone mace, but both might make a decent CoG weapons to prevent fatal beatings. Stick them in weapon traps to improve room value.

The shield is the best, the mace and blowgun would suck in combat IMO.

If I understand correctly, blowgun will be accurate as heck. But you don't have any ammo.

If you have patience that I lack and also some prisoners, you can probably train your recruits in art of macing with your bone mace.

Cool, but wouldn't this likely lead to tongues having a '[SPEACH]' tag, and thus via necromancy we would have nearly unkillable reanimated tongues following necromancers spamming 'it is sad but not unexpected'?

The justice-dealing squads use unarmed attacks now.

I am trying to make chickens lay bees as eggs. So far it only produces a single "Tame Small Creature" when a hen lays bees.
Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.
