Remove pen status from newly chained/restrained critter
« on: July 01, 2013, 02:12:25 am »

After 500+ entries on the 'to be done' board that this forum links to, I didn't see this.

It's a simple request really, but one that drives me nuts because it's so hard to figure out who's who in the animal lists.  When you setup restraints/chains at your doors and want to put up some wardogs (or replace some dead ones), you have to find the pen that you were keeping the parents in that they became part of and remove them.

If you don't, some poor dorf just keeps hauling them back and forth.

When you select an animal for restraining, it'd be nice if their 'keep in pen' status was turned off.

Well, this is most certainly an unintended behavior. Less of a suggestion and more of a bug fixing request.

Like all bug squashing, it should be fixed sometime during the post-release time schedule. This is a pretty minor (albeit annoying) bug, so it may have to wait a few releases from now.

Ah, my apologies.  I'd figured the double setting was in there in case the chain was broken by something.  Is there a way to move a topic to bug reports or should I simply re-post this in that forum?
