Adamantine armor set equip issues
« on: June 21, 2013, 12:11:40 am »

Hi all

I made a suit of Adamantine armor recently:
BP, Chain Shirt, Legging, Helm, High Boot (2), Gauntlet (2), Shield.

Included in this is 1 hood, and 1 cloak (both leather).

I equipped first dwarf no problems with the set.

Now later on I make another suit, but the dwarf seems to only want to equip all but 1 boot and both gauntlets. The 3 missing peices are sitting in the stockpile set aside for adamantium gear.

Setting is Exact Match, and material in equip screen is ofc set to correct item type and material. It's also set to replace clothing.

I attempted to equip specific for the missing peices, and can see the adamantine items in the list however the text is red.

I checked the other military, no one else is set to use adamatine gear except the original dwarf who is already equipped.

Any idea?

Try removing any equipment designation from the dwarves with the issues and waiting a few ticks for them to take of anything they are already wearing. Then using specific item equip for the entire uniform. I figure the armor might be red because he is already assigned to wear it? Someone else might be more helpful.

Maybe another dwarf entirely has claimed the items but isn't wearing them for some reason. This can happen if a dwarf is both in a squad and has Mining, Woodcutting, or Hunting enabled. They claim their military uniform items because the military screen tells them to, but they keep hold of their job uniform items (pick, axe, crossbow + leather armour) because their labour setting tell them to.

But since most people don't put all their dwarves in squads, this exact problem is somewhat unlikely.

I am trying to make chickens lay bees as eggs. So far it only produces a single "Tame Small Creature" when a hen lays bees.
Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.
