There is something about presenting a piece of work that can be seen as a product that triggers such self entitled behavior. Is everyone truly so used to companies trying to sell you stuff pampering to your every need, that destructive criticism and dismissal is the norm? I assume the op is here to show his/her work in progress in its early stage of developement, not to force advertise or present you a product on a silver platter.

There is so much stuff on the internet that passing up things based on heuristics (such as a lack of information) is a must, not some lazy product of consumerism

I am all for someone showing off their work. But there is alot of things on the internet and without something to catch my interest (seriously, just a couple of sentinces and I would be happy), I (and most people) cannot be expected to spend time on this. It is constructive criticism, if the poster makes a post with just a bit of a desctiption, it will likely spark alot more interest from people.

I'd almost like this thread stickied as an example of how to not write a topic about your game. I don't think the guy deserves any hostility, but not bothering to post even a two sentence synopsis of your project is basically ensuring that you will not get feedback or hype. Frankly, my gut reaction was that the OP comes off as someone trying to get people to download a virus... Whether he is or not, that immediately dissuades me from clicking on any link or researching the game further.

As a side note, I'm curious as to why so many people that hardly ever post in Other Games have come out to specifically defend this guy. We've had advertisers (and even spambots) in the past that made far better attempts to engage the community, but no one came to defend them. Why this guy?
