I've had an idea for a new creature to add to the game (Based off this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brazen_bull) that I think might also be quite a bit of fun if it were createable in Dwarf mode.

As an example, how would I add a reaction to create say, an Iron Man, at a Blacksmith's workshop?

Thanks in advance for your help!

It's possible I've done it several times, but it's not an easy thing to mod. Boltgun's Succumbus Mod makes use of (or used to) of a method that you might want, however creatures made are Friendly and not apart of your civ. Another work around is to transform other creatures into the ones you want (which a few mods use right now) you have a special pet creature that it's soul purpose is to be crafted into other creatures, so it breeds and the children are made into your new critter.

It's late here so I can't go into full details on how to accomplish this right now, sorry.

Alright then so theoretically I could use a reaction that turns a bull into my creature which would keep it as part of my pets list, I'd guess? That sounds reasonable, and I was hoping to figure out a way to create the Brazen Bull without it being too easily obtainable. Thanks!

brazen bull from bull can be easily done. Look how the colossus does the tissues, replace copper with brass, then copy the bull and add the colossus tissues to it.

then make a boiling rock that affects bulls and turns them into brass bulls. :)

You cannot create a creature out of nothing, but there is workarounds, like abusing zombie mechanics to 'split' a creature. But I recommend transforming an existing creature, it is a lot simpler.

You will need to immobilize your worker for the process, you can use a caste for that.
