Less random parties
« on: June 13, 2013, 06:40:21 pm »

Perhaps parties can occur on the dates of historical events, or birthdays of dwarves, so that they're predictable and you can make sure your broker won't decide it's time to party when the traders are here.

Dates important to religious figures may also be party days, possibly restricted to dwarves who have a certain level of devoutness in that particular religion.

Of course, just like in real life, there may be random parties occasionally, but I'd imagine they'd be less common than they are now.  And perhaps more common immediately after striking a vein of something extremely valuable?  I can see dwarves celebrating striking native aluminum/platinum or raw adamantine.

Having recreational events be more meaningful is planned. Holidays in particular.

I understand that it is disappointing when a dwarf makes a spiked loincloth instead of an axe.

From what I understand many of the parties are in fact weddings.  :D

Yeah, when a dwarven couple marries each other, you'll get a announcement if they want to party it or not.

How about when you hit to the candy every single dwarf goest into massive party lasting for months. It would be worse than HFS!

Seems to me like this party would be punctuated by dwarves randomly digging themselves a bit of candy, which could be tons of fun!
