any uses for these things
« on: June 07, 2013, 04:25:07 pm »

So checking over my gem bins I seen that I had gizzard stones I assume they come from chickens I butchered  . Is there any thing I can do with them ?

I think (not sure though, so take that with caution) that I have seen them used in artifact creation, as a substitute for rock boulders or something. Other than that they are probably pretty useless.

Gizzard stones and bezoars can be used at a gemcutter's workshop like cabochons.

Gizzard stones are for all intents and purposes cut gems made of that rock.

They are a byproduct when certain animals are butchered. In vanilla I've only seen them produced from elk birds and beak dogs, but if you're using a mod then it's possible yours came from chickens.

You can get them from cave crocodiles as well.

Uses a "new" tag to create objects upon butchering
Code: [Select]
[EXTRA_BUTCHER_OBJECT:BY_CATEGORY:GIZZARD]
[EBO_ITEM:SMALLGEM:NONE:ANY_HARD_STONE]
[EBO_SHAPE:GIZZARD_STONE]

I put something using this tag into cavies that makes them produce a bar of soap when butchered.  Figured I'd make them useful in some way.

Right, then what I saw was them being used as cut gems in artifacts, not rock substitute.
