This is a world I built with my kid brother over the course of several days.
This universe features features races that have evolved to almost godlike forms. Specifically, three of them:
NEUTRAL EVIL
The Sesselians are a species of insectoid aliens that have almost entirely replaced their bodies with varying degrees of giant robotic insect forms. There are three main tiers:
Wasps: The basic assault troops of the Sesselians, they are 25 foot tall wasp-like robots, with anti-vehicle weapons aboard (Sesselians do not need antipersonnel weapons, for reasons discussed later). Wasps are solely devoted to combat, and are rarely seen without all weapons firing.
Dreadnoughts: Massive spacecraft that carry Wasps by the hundred, usually about 700 feet tall and 800 feet long. Dreadnoughts are the largest of the three forms that can be easily observed. The Dreadnoughts also carry Zelexium (See section 3) processing facilities.
Devourers:Devourers are the pinnacle of Sessellian engineering, and easily the largest craft in the known universe. They are vaguely humanoid, but are the size of small planets. They have billions of brains worth of mental power, and are constantly upgrading their facilities and building new bodies. Devourers are also capable of rendering planets lifeless. The mechanism by which they do this is discussed in the next section.
Zelexium is a yellow-green substance, fluid at room temperature, that has a strange array of properties. It can switch between three phases: Alpha, Beta, and Inactive. Alpha phase causes it to rapidly absorb energy, eventually even ripping atoms apart. Beta phase causes it to slowly release stored energy over the course of several days. Inactive means energy is neither taken in, nor put out. Sessellians have discovered how to switch its phases, and use it to power their bodies. They feed by either rapidly extruding Zelexium over a target, then taking it in, or placing targets into a tank of the Alpha Phase, rapidly extracting all possible energy.
Reproduction:Sessellians reproduce by taking the metamorphosing cocoons of other species similar to them and modifying their genes so that they morph instead into more Sessellian larvae, which then have their brains removed and placed into bodies.
