Hello, future space miner/prospector. Here at RubyCo, we need lots of metal to meet weapons peaceful spacecraft production goals. You have been sent to the surface to mine for minerals. But take heart, RubyCo has many assistive technologies for your mining pleasure!

You step out of the LQ-15 Personnel Drop Pod^® onto the surface of... where, exactly? First things first: who are you, what planet are you on, and what equipment do you have?

This... It looks like Pluto, well that would explain the ice at least...
Well, lets see what is in this pod. Hrmm, life support, a few half-hearted geological surveys, a vehicle database with manual and instructions for constructing them with some sort of factory... So where are the supplies... Oh, I see now, there is a dispenser. Hrmm, oh, yes, that button there displays the manifest. Okay... 20000 freeze-dried tomato and peanut-butter sandwiches, okay, and what else? hrmm, no, not that button, nor that one, hrmmm... Okay, that appear to be the entire inventory... Oh, but there must be medical and recreational supplies! Hrmm, an automated medical pod with some sort of scribbling on it. Oh, at least they told me that it was out of warranty... Well maybe the recreation supplies are connected to the communications equipment. Ah, so I can pick up a couple of radio channels, the weather channel, and emergency channel. There are also some recordings, the entire series of Red Dwarf, Gilligan's Island, Lost in Space, Swiss Family Robinson,

 Oh, okay, they appear to have dropped a vehicle manufacturing facility outside. And an extremely large pile of scrap metal. It should only take a few weeks to repair the damage done by dropping it... At least the space suit is good. Whoever sewed all these patches onto it really must have wanted to keep the occupant warm and secure, except for those two holes at the front and back that you had to patch yourself...

Hard to say. The horizon's pretty close, though, so it's pretty small--smaller than Luna, that's for sure. Ceres, maybe? It's rocky enough. Thank Spode for vac suits.

I'm Robin Cruz, and I am wearing a vac suit over my underwear (they're skin-tight, so there's not room for much else). I am looking out the window of a pod. Inside the pod, there is a hydroponics facility capable of providing food for three people and oxygen for about a dozen, as well as an exosuit with various mining tools and a basic smelter/manufactury. The computer includes designs of pretty much anything I could need made of metal except spaceships, as well as a wide variety of games and trid stuff, including conversions of such classics as Gilligan's Island, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Lost in Space, The Asteroid Robinsons, etc.
