Helping the Toad Code

Toady One is awesome. I am sure many of us want to share in his awwsomeness by helping him code. If I learn to code, I would help him.

IIRC Toady has established that he intends to keep the source code proprietary, at least until the game is completely finished, very possibly longer.

You can help however by finding the correct values for anything listed in the raws as needing more accurate information (ie. the properties of some materials); I think there are still a couple that haven't been pinned down yet.

EDIT: Or send money. He's doing all of this on a shoestring budget.

One other possibility is to help mods like DFHacks. The mods help make Dwarf Fortress more playable, and therefore help improve the player base for Dwarf Fortress. Which in turn help improve the donation to the great Toad.

One of the toads decided to go for a swim in the moat - presumably because he could path through the moat to my dwarves. He is not charging in, just loitering in the moat.

The toad is having a nice relaxing swim.
The goblin mounted on his back, however, is drowning.

Bohandas is correct. IIRC, Toady has said that he'd rather code everything himself as bringing people up to date on his code would take just as long as a new big update, then there's the coordination involved as well. The best way to help Toady with the game is to check raw numbers, send money, and find bugs within the game.

The other topic was a weird double post thing.
