I've been in relationships with two assholes, so I can't help you there.  Wasn't very active with the first one, was more so with the second.

But I know that the sort of guys I date tend to find it very attractive.  Of course, it's always implicitly understood by everyone around us that I'm the one in charge.  I have a lot of romantic energy, but when it's not reciprocated I just get tired.

That does give me a very possible avenue I have not considered.

It could be a non-couple with a bastard child.

There's a wonderful movie called "Patrik, age 1.5" on netflix that has a homosexual couple trying to adopt. There's a very large difference between active and passive between the two in the couple, for sure.
