Meaning of turquoise tilde symbol?

Here's one I've never seen before; my dwarf started flashing 3 things; dwarf, blue down arrow (thirsty), and turquoise tilde:



Anyone have any idea what it means?

For some reason, this symbol is showing as a left bracket in Phoebus, and the demon symbol (!!!) in Ironhand.

My best guess is it meant raw fish, or guts, or something.  She was hauling a fish to the fishery to prepare a raw fish; the symbol stopped flashing when she started preparing the fish.

What I don't get is why it had the demon symbol in Ironhand, which corresponds to ampersand, not tilde.  Which data file would this mapping be configured in?

Check the Health screen. I think there was something to do with sickness which has that symbol...

As far as I know, both mussels and other shell-leaving fish share the same tile ("whirling something") with demons in Ironhand.

Any idea why?  Demon symbol doesn't seem to make sense for non-demons.  :)

I just noticed the demon symbol again in Ironhand, this time for a raw brook lamprey that a fisherdwarf has dumped by the river.
