Played the shit out of that game. Made a lot of friends, even booked a flight to the USA to meet some of the people we'd met online and stayed with them for 2 weeks.

Haven't played it since about '99.

Played on chesapeake I believe, a smithing/macewoman character named Sherazade (shared character between me and my gf back then). She was  a member of a girls-only guild modeled after the Wheel of Time series. Later had my own mage/craftsman called Mercator who was in a Mercantile guild, and did quality runebooks, spellbooks and scrolls. Had quite a good business and steady clientele, and outsold all other members of the guild.

I imagine a lot has changed in the 13 years since I played :)

I played for like 10 years on free shards, but I think I'm done after IPY2, I can't work up any enthusiasm for starting over again.

I played it for two weeks on a starter account, saw how horribly bot-centric it was, and left. Does that count?

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

I've never tried it but I might give it a go sometime. Kind of not a fan of the Ultima series though so don't count on it.
