Behold, A Dwarven Coin
« on: April 19, 2013, 11:08:01 am »

A while ago I was misguided and thought "hey, I'll just mint a buttload of gold and silver coins and trade with those!", didnt turn out so well, but it got me to thinking what a dorf coin would actually look like. So I designed these coins in blender and had them printed in steel with some sort of fake gold coating. Most bad ass thing I've seen in a while imo. If you want one, or a billion of these yourself check out shpws.me/ln0e

That is pretty excellent, but I don't think it's dwarven.  The imagery isn't nearly disturbing or confusing enough.  A coin with a mousetrap on one side and a burning dog on the other seems more likely.

A sock on one side and a plump helmet on the other.

This is a gold coin.
All craftsdwarfship is of the highest quality.
It is encrusted with Ruby and Citrine and encircled with bands of green glass, Chalk and Galena.
This object is adorned with hanging rings of Diorite and menaces with spikes of Leather.
On the item is an image of a Sock in Copper.
On the item is an image of Plump Helmets in Tin.
On the item is an image of a Sock and Urist Pinkanvils the dorf in green glass.
Urist Pinkanvils is raising the Sock.
This artwork relates to the claiming of Sock in The TombPaddles in 166.

I saw that and had a weird moment of fantasy where Dwarf Fortress ran a Kickstarter and offered that as a physical reward.

Nice work!

Those are pretty nifty. I have to wonder how they print in steel and what the restrictions are though.

Also, steel is really cheap. You could try making these yourself, no? :) Find some chisels and have at it :D
