Best podcast app?

So I've lived my entire life being completely ignorant of podcasts, until today. I have absolutely no idea how they work, and I feel like such a Luddite right now :P What do you use to listen to podcasts? Preferably free, obviously. Thanks :)

If you are on a iOS device, the Podcasts app by Apple is free and... functional. Lots of people seem to dislike it, but I personally haven't had any major issues with it.

If you like a particular podcaster, you can also often find their show's own app, which is usually free, to download that podcast directly.

If you are interested in educational materials on iOS, check out iTunes U.
