Corrupted save file - how to prevent?
« on: April 14, 2013, 09:17:13 am »

Yesterday I saved a game and quit it..
Today I wanted to load it up and every time I try it the game crashes. What can I do to prevent this?
Also my game is crashing often. How to prevent that?

my last fort died from the same thing: crashed every time i tried loading it.

i didnt have any crashes normally though, just a few at "cleaning objects" during save game and that seemed like a unrelated bug (it did not affect saving).

Disable compressed saves in the init files.

Won't un-corrupt the saves, but it should keep files from corrupting later on.
