soldier becomes mayor

I just had a soldier get elected mayor.  Will she do her mayoral duties if she is still in the military, or does she need to be deactivated?

It's annoying as hell.

I think if you put them off duty they do mayory stuff, but not nearly as fast as normal.

I had a military person as mayor, they did all duties while still employed.  They would abort sparring to trade, for example, and conduct meetings, if I remember correctly.  That problem went away when the duke arrived, and the soldier mayor didn't have much to do.

do majors do anything btw? ive had soldiers as majors but they still make mandates
