Smoothing out mud/dirt
« on: March 08, 2007, 12:53:00 pm »

There are a couple of specks of brown mud/dirt on my nice detailed entrance hall floor which steadfastly refuse to be smoothed over. they got flooded last year, but all the other muddy flagstones have dried out, and still these patches sit, stopping human caravans coming inside and selling me things. how can i get rid of this mud and have a nice fortress again?

Once a muddy stone square has had a plant grow on it and become mud/dirt, it can't be smoothed back into stone.  You could cause a collapse by mining out a 7x7 space.  If the square in question gets filled in by the collapse, and then you mine it out again, it will be stone which can be smoothed.

I don't remember that kind of thing happening to me, but you might try building a bridge on top of it.

But what do I know?
Everything I say should be taken with atleast 1 tsp. of salt, and another liter of Dwarven Wine is recommended.

"I thought it was the size of the others!" said Vanon. "I guess it was just standing further away!"
