Something's Not Right Here
« on: April 04, 2013, 01:09:12 pm »

I got a quest to kill a vampire in a temple. The map lead me to this:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
It's a pit that leads to the magma sea. (Yes, I jumped in it to make sure)
Now what?

EDIT
I actually found the temple; the map was giving me wrong directions.

EDIT2
I murdered the vampire, drank his blood, and killed nearly two hundred "notable" creatures with an over-decorated copper puzzlebox.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Is there any other game where you are a vampire who can run around slaying great beasts with a copper puzzlebox while yelling "Eat my cushion ruby cabochons?"
HELL NO.

EDIT3
I bled to death after having my feet and hands broken. The end.

I dont get rid of the feel that the proximity of the river has literally eaten the temples staircase downwards away.
I might be wrong, becuase if i am right it's impossible to get in. There's sure no other way in in immediate range around it?

Never seen such an thing actually happen yet.

I have pretty similiar problem with killing a vampire, but he is in a giant, triangular hole several z-levels deep, with lake on its bottom. But... it's not "triangular" like a lake. It's too perfect to be natural. And I can't find any entrance around here, so I guess that one vampire will live... for now.

Roads ending with a giant hole to the magma sea? Sounds like a bug report to me!

No, it sounds like dwarf fortress.

Actually, I've seen this bug before. Except my pit went to cavern #3, with a magma pipe off to the side where one could swim down to the sea.
My attempts to reach the bottom resulted in puddles of gore and water.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.
