Like The title says how do i keep my fortress save from  getting deleted if i exit df so i don't have to make a new fortress?

Hit escape, then select Save instead of Abandon.

Done.

i know that but the next time i go on df after I saved the saves are gone.

That should be all there is to it. Where is your DF directory located?

downloads is there something wrong with it being located there?

Also im using the may green tileset.

It's a silly question, but have you extracted the zip or are you running the exe from within it. DF needs to be extracted (preferably into a folder of it's own) for saves to work properly.
