[FONT="Arial Black"]An Eternal Conservative Era [/FONT]

954.M41
Octoranis, Gamma Triangulius

Conservative Planetary Governor Flecius Mirin ends his 54th term with approval ratings in the high 90s and is succeeded   by hardcore Arch-Conservative Perserui Mirin.

With Conservatives being reelected into the Parliament and a Conservative majority in the Precints of the Adeptus Arbites , imperial Schola are hailing it as the continuation of the Conservative Imperial Era.
Planetary Governor Perserui Mirin has asked the new Congress to move quickly to rubber stamp his radical Arch-Conservative agenda. No one is ready to stop this imminent trampling of Liberal Sanity and Justice.

In this dark time , the Liberal Crime Squad is born......

A bolt round turned the ambaric light above Thesus Marion's head to dust. The elite Liberal leader briefly stuck his torso out infront of the hab-unit's window to pop off a 4 shot burst from a autogun. One round clattered off the carapace armor of an Arbite partially covered by a metal barrel. 3 Arbites were supported by two dozen local enforcers surrounded the 3 story prefab apartment building that had been a safe refuge for the 2 men and one mutant.

Correction, 3 humans. Mutants are just as human as any one, Thought Thesus, catching a dangerous tendril of Conservative ideology before it spread. Conservative or not the misguided enforcers were forced to fall back when they triggered a bomb attached to a Promethium line. Hot flames burst out infront of the hab as the ruptured line caught fire. Two enforces ran around in flames for a few second before one of the Arbites blessed them with bolt rounds to the head. The remaining twenty or so enforcers put up a wall of las bolts that plastered the entire hab unit while a couple additional Arbites brought  in a rocket launcher to flatten the building. By the time they were ready the entire hab unit had gone up in flames. The next standard day only two bodies were found in the second floor.

Of course even for a world as sparsely populated as Triangulius shoot outs between cults, heretics, mutants and imperial forces were a common occurrence. A population of 4 billion spread over eight cities along the equator bordered by frozen wastelands to the north and south was more than enough for the destruction of a political force numbering five members to go unnoticed even if they had blown up a nuclear reactor.

However, as the former Liberal Stronghold in the slums of Octoranis burned to the ground a bright light pierced the skies across the industrial district . The bright light was easily visible from space causing hundreds of inter system and local trader ships to move away as fast as their engines could take them. PDF and SDF units converged on the area on ground and in the void. Despite the mobilization of imperial forces nothing of noteworthiness was found in the vicinity. Other than the bright light nothing seemed to have happened to any part of the city. Other than a few documents sent off world to the Inquisition and neighboring systems the bright flash was soon forgotten. The biggest change for Octoranis was the deaths of 2,000 Zealots , an accepted variant of the Imperial Cult who thought the end time had come. The only change noted by a few scurrying drug dealers was that two abandoned factories changed slightly. One was now labelled in Gothic "Cement Factory" and looked as dilapidated as ever, the other was labeled in the more arcane "Redstone Insurance Co" and was painted an inviting shade of purple.

Once all the commotion had died down and the crowds returned a confused man wearing rose colored glasses and a tie dyed T-shirt looked out from the balcony of Redstone Insurance ,"Gadzooks, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore!"

And so in this Grimdark time, The Liberal Crime Squad is born........(again)

ooc: Information about the LCS text based video game can be found at the LCS wiki and at the Dwarf Fortress forums. LCS was created by Zack and Tarn Adams. It is now managed by Jonathan S. Fox.

Also this is my first fanfiction/story in 6 years. Talk about a hiatus.

An interesting idea: let's see how it turns out.

Quote
with approval ratings in the high 100s

Wouldn't that mean approval ratings between 100 and 110%?

Oh, and by the way: this is not vBulletin, the BBcode tags are lowercase here.

Thanks I fixed the tags. I changed 100s to 90s also. I thought it would make sense of the Imperium to make up ridiculous approval ratings for their governors.
