I killed a necromancer, how do I be a necromancer?

Drinking vampire blood makes you a vampire and has absolutely nothing to do with becoming a necromancer - the only connection is that people tend to become vampires so they don't have to fight all of the zombies.

If you want to become a necromancer, you need to learn the secrets of life and death by reading the Slab (or by reading a book which happens to also explain them).

Just to clarify, the book is usually somewhere on a bookshelf near the top floor of the necromancer's tower.  It can be a book or a slab.  Once you read it, there is some kind of message about having learned the secrets of life and death.

Also know that necromancers and vampires to my knowledge are no longer able to raise attributes but skills can still be increased.  You also won't age or need to eat and drink anymore (besides blood for vampires).

Its easy to find the slab its usually the only book with randomized words or the title has to do something with death or anything that you wrote in the secret_book tab

Also note that you need at least Novice skill in Reader. Otherwise you won't be able to read anything, and it can't be learned after character generation.
