Possible to make stone crafts from stone blocks?
If not, is there a tag you could add to stone blocks to make it possible?

Hmm i used to set most of my mason workshops on auto stone block making most of the time (Getting mason skill for the dorfs) and i don't remember running out of stone so i assume crafters will use blocks if they're closer than a actual stone.

But that's only me guessing since i didn't play DF in several months now (Since the introduction of vampires to be exact).

No, and no. Blocks cannot be used for any workshop jobs - they can only be used for building things (whether that be bridges, roads, constructions, or more workshops).

If you want to make crafts from blocks, you will have to add a custom reaction in order to do it (which will require generating a new world), and for that you'll want to head over to the Modding forum.

i was sure that could be done, i just never had a reason to turn everything into blocks

edit: to poster #2: you havent played since vampires were added?
it's easy to use advanced world gen and set "vampire curse types" to 0, that makes no vampires ever

he didn't say it was because of the vampires. I havn't actually played (much) since minecarts were added, but that wasn't because of minecarts
