Bug report time:
wooden logs (stuff you get after you cut a 'T'ree) will regenerate after you pick them up, and can be picked up again. Logs found in crates do not. The same thing happens with cooked food. making a new item (cooking more food or cutting another tree) seems to negate this behavior in the previous item (though it will be true for the new item)
It's impossible to tell which weapon you are holding.

I tried to play chess but two of my opponents were playing competitive checkers as a third person walked in with Game of Thrones in hand confused cause they thought this was the book club.

Change log:

FIX: various bugs
ADD: Change weapon in use
ADD: Show weapon in use
ADD: Start with choise of difficulty level and size map shown
ADD: Remove debris (cleaning house)
ADD: Lock doors
ADD: Build barricades. Useful for resting in the house for the night because see next
ADD: In the night high risk to meet bandits (more high is the difficulty level, more bandits you meet)
ADD: Craft new weapons
ADD: In combat the agility value is important

Change log:

FIX: many bugs solved
CHANGE: at start new game, if name exist can be overwrite
ADD ITEM: backpack
ADD ITEM: bottles
ADD ITEM: torches
ADD: in the night, attack of the bandits lasts for 1 hour (approximately), then they disappear
ADD: crafting torches (useless at the moment)
ADD: now consider the weight of every resource, cannot transport over the limit. Backpack increase this limit
ADD: add a marker (flag) to remember certain location
ADD: shops, where find useful resources. Unfortunately the shops are quite rare
ADD: others animals (hunting season!)
ADD: join with other people (not with every people)
ADD: spring of fresh water
ADD: drink water or beer. Fill bottles with spring water
ADD: in zoomed map, split your group, transfer people and/or resources
ADD: guard (i.e. when other people are sleeping), awake if a NPC is approaching
ADD: raise alarm to stop other people activities (to let people rest)

Wanted to try this out, but get an Error on run "Can't open DirectX"
I'm a gamer, so obviously I've got the latest versions, and one guess would be that this might require an extremely old version?
My other guess is that this is incompatible with Win7 and/or 64-bit OS.
XP SP2 compatibility mode didn't change the error.


Problem Found. Incompatible with the Evolve service running in the background.
Exiting Evolve will fix the problem.

Very strange, I tested it on XP and Win7/64bits without problems. You get the error at start?

Doesn't even start. Generic windows box with the error.
Figured it out (I think)
A social gaming app called Evolve tries to put an overlay (for browsing chatting or sharing) in just about any DirectX or OpenGL game that they have a rule for. (Rules are based on a specific exe name and a specific file relative to the exe's location.)
Never had problems with it before, but after closing it and Steam, it finally ran, and I can't imagine Steam having anything to do with it when it's in the tray only.
I've run lots of old and new games, and never had a straight up crash like that with Evolve.
