Why not discuss the merits of games, instead of discussing how closely they follow the artificial constraints designated by a collection of noises.

I am mostly waiting until someone posts a good action roguelike I can sink my teeth into.

Something substantial.

Because this particular discussion wasn't started with the premise of discussing the merits of games.

This discussion is about making a list of games that fit the emerging roguelike-like genre.

Fundamentally, this thread is about those artificial constraints.

But, y'know, feel free to start your own thread for discussing merits of games.

It would be nice to see an action roguelikelike with the depth of a traditional roguelike. Risk of Rain has the potential I think, if solid development continues with it. It seems as if there will be a lot of classes to choose from and I'm sure plenty of new items and montsters too.

Triangle Wizard mentioned above has quite a good bit to it at this point and is very challenging---plenty of tactical and strategic decisions that can greatly alter the flow of a game on the whole in all sorts of ways.

Legend of Dungeon is a nice little one. Pretty lighting, plenty of randomization, nice controls. Feels a lot like an early 90's side-scrolling beat-em-up really. It's recently had a Kickstarter campaign, but there is an alpha floating about. If you find it, give it a try. The current beta has way more content and the full release should be out soon'ish (hopefully).

I wholehearted second Triangle Wizard. It's a great roguelike, gets updated regularly and can get hard as hell. Or easy if you want it to be. Try an Efreet Energist of Ragnoros if you want to try out a bit of the content early on, it can't get easier. Or a Weathermage if you like flying more than invisibilty. Flaming chain-lightning death for all. Seriously, I mean everyone but you. Zap-whoomph-die! Even the damn peasants. :)
