GOG sale

http://www.gog.com/pick_5

There are some incredible games here and they're dirt cheap.  Inquisitor, The Witcher, Alan Wake and Legend of Grimrock are all must haves IMO.

I honestly find Alan Wake to be a hillarious game about an Author who the game tries to build up as a great author but where the game just shows how terrible he is at writing.

All the more reason to buy it!

This is a pretty great sale it actually has most of the expencive games I want but didn't have the money for in it... unfortunately I don't have the cash to buy 5 of them right now.

Anybody know if any of these activate on steam?  I'm kind of interested in:

- Deponia
- PID
- Lucius
- Chronicles of Riddick
- Puddle

Aw, no option to DRM it up?   Shame.   :P

I'll probably pass then, just because I use steam as an organizer/download manager as well.

Doesn't steam have the fancy option to tack itself onto any game?  Or do games need some sort of special code for steam to do that?

You can add shortcuts to non-steam programs/games, but that means I actually have to install each game right away.

Eh, you can download and redownload from GOG anytime... so...  I guess it won't go to your organizer thing.

I use Steam the same way, and generally prefer to buy games there. That being said, GoG makes your life really easy. It doesn't have an application but the website is easy to use and it displays your purchases nicely. I have zero issues using both.

Plus giving Steam a little competition is a good thing.

The only good thing about Steam comes about when upgrading your motherboard or generally rebuilding a computer. Keys tend to be stored in Steam so you just have to move Steam over and save files before you're up and running. Anything that puts a key in your registry is toast as soon as you reinstall an OS. You have to reinstall every little game. GOG is mostly small game files so it's not too much of a hassle.
