My favorite way "Humans are special" I have ever seen in a setting was where humans were basically the "In crowd" whos rampant commercialism has lead them to be the coolest race in the universe.

I'd like to say that is what would happen. The aliens would see our videogames, movies, and icecream and go "Wow, humans know how to live"
I would say commercialism is one of the worst things we've ever created ^_^

Also for those who say aliens who find us'll be more advanced, if they're carbon based it's very likely we are some of the first sapient species in our galaxy. If not carbon based, all to the wind. We haven't seen any foreign space probes anywhere either yet so we know there's no FTL aliums out there in our galaxy so far.

It is quite amusing to imagine a scenario where spacefaring aliens find a ruined civilization, torn apart by its own conflicts and infernal avarice. Great buildings buried in the sands, footprints of technology that changed the world... Then they find the weapons. Entire libraries of pop culture and applied science.

Well, depends on how many aliens. If sapients are a dime-a-dozen, they likely won't bother unless something really interesting survived.

If they are only a handful, or, possibly, we are the first one they find, they'll deconstruct the shit out of this place.

Actually, that would be pretty coll to find one day for us. Imagine, we go to another planet, and there is a ruined civlization. No robot guardians, no super-weapons, not even any salvagers, just a planet and it's ruins.

That's probably more likely than finding a planet with living intelligent species.

In the 'Buck Godot - Zap Gun for Hire' series of graphic novels, Humanities greatest contribution to galactic culture was the Popsicle.

Adding flavor and freezing water.

Don't tell anyone that you can see their shadows. If they hear you telling anyone, if you let them know that you know of them, they will get you.
