I'm a VJ (like a DJ but with video) and I need some specific clips for a couple of shows I'm playing soon. Problem is, I don't know where to find them. I've been watching any movies I can think of that might have what I'm looking for, but so far almost no luck. I wonder if any of you guys might have some ideas?

1. Country scenes of people having a good time. It can be dancing, playing instruments, fairs, anything like that, but it will have to match folk music. *I'd love to find a scene with a maypole dance but no idea where to look. Youtube videos are not good enough quality to be usable for this.

2. "Speakeasy" scenes - a friend is having a themed art show and wants video playing some of the time. She wants black and white footage of smokey bars and flappers and all that stuff, but with an occasional splash of color. What this means is I have to find color scenes then remove the color from all but a small area (mostly she wants red - think the girl's red jacket in Schindler's List). I might be able to add color to scenes that are already black and white, but I don't know if I'll have time to do something like that before the show (it's 15 March). Pure black and white is also okay, but I should try to work some color in there somewhere.

Any ideas at all would be most greatly appreciated!

The Wicker Man is set in rural England and might have what you're looking for. Your post made me think of this scene in particular, it's titled "Maypole song".

Ricky: I'm trying to avoid clips that will be recognized by everyone watching them. I know some people will probably know where a lot of my clips come from, but if I use the Sound of Music, everyone will know. The reason being that they will associate the image with the source rather than the music being played. But I'll have a look anyway and see if I can find anything suitably obscure.
Mullet Master: I've tried Dark City, too futuristic looking for my friend (she wants roaring 20s types of scenes). I think I tried Sin City as well but that was a while ago, maybe I should look again now that I have more specific goals. I think the visual style might exclude it though, too comic-book-ish. I've actually never seen Casablanca or the Big Sleep - Casablanca might be too recognizable like Sound of Music, but again, I still might find something useful, and this doesn't have to match music, so maybe it wouldn't be a problem if people recognize it. I'll give it a try.

Thanks very much for all the suggestions so far. I'm thinking maybe some gangster films will be good for #2 - smokey bars and nightclubs, ladies dressed up, slow-paced stuff. Any suggestions for that genre?

It's more 30s than Roaring 20s, but if you put it in black and white it might work. It's comedy though so the scenes might not be what you want.
