I tried this when it first came out and it was super disappointing. 

It takes an eternity to sail anywhere and all of the magic of the original games has been replaced with standard MMO mediocrity.

Eh, my apologies, I probably could have tried to not sound as hostile as I did...  also bothered myself to find and link the old thread too...

Thanks bud, that's all it needed.

Sad to see there are other nonces on the thread still, however!

@Neo - Unfortunately, I'm getting that vibe from the game so far. I've been playing over an hour and a half, and I'm still in the tutorial...

Unfortunately the tutorial can last upwards of a week depending on how you play it.  There's Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced schools, in each of Maritime, Merchant, and Exploration jobs, and working all of them can take forever.

Most people go through Intermediate with one school, as this opens up the real ports.  The rest of the ports rely on main story quests and grinding up your fame.
